Back in 1960 in Jaipur, a small traditional jewellery company was started by Kindurilal Saraff. He started out with only 5 craftsmen, making jewellery for the certain class of Jaipur. Words spread of this new company, and soon clients from nearby area were attracted as well to the company’s fine traditional jewellery.
During the next 20 years sales continued to spread to all over the Rajasthan region. In that same period the Jaipur Maharaja invited Jewelers and textiles manufactures from all parts of India to settle in Jaipur, in order to develop the desert. As a result of this, the industry began to grow, making Jaipur not only an important city for gems, but also now for the jewellery industry in general.
In 1978 the next generation took over the growing company, and exports stared in very small scale, mainly as a result of tourist bringing jewellery to markets in Europe and around the globe. And so – as circles in water - the word spread about the beautiful craftsmanship from India.
In 1984 present owner, the grandson of the founder - Ashok Goyal - took over the company. With his business education (MBA) in sales & Marketing and jewellery design from Milan,Itlay he brought a modern touch to the company: A join venture with an Italian business partner developed the company in general, right from educating the working staff of goldsmiths to refining the administrative routines and so enabling the company to grow steady to its present position.
Today Vedansh is a leading name in the industry, exporting and exhibiting worldwide. Not only the Vedansh traditional collections, but also developing customized designs for clients all over the world.
